If you live in the United States and you’ve been holding out for a hotter BMW M4, then it appears your patience has been rewarded. Newly leaked information suggests that the racier 2016 M4 GTS will make its way across the Atlantic to be sold in North America. You might remember that BMW didn’t think we Americans were cool enough to buy the very fast and very orange E92 M3 GTS.
User MikeBMWVegas at Bimmer Post brought the info to light after he came across the 2016 M4 GTS Coupe in BMW’s North American ordering system. Info on colors, pricing and options isn’t available yet, but it appears sales will begin in March of 2016.
BMW hasn’t released anything official on the GTS or even confirmed its existence, but we have a pretty good idea of what to expect from the lighter, more powerful M4. Our spy shots show some clearly visibly new exterior features, including a jutting front splitter and a fixed rear wing. Power should be bumped up to the 450 horsepower range and weight reduced by around 200 pounds. Look for the M4 GTS at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
