News has been spreading like wildfire around the web that the Koenigsegg ownership fraternity may be about to get a major sporting celebrity among its ranks – world champion boxer Floyd Mayweather. Reports say that Mayweather is about to add a Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita to his considerable collection of supercars and that he’s paying as much as $4.8million for the privilege.
Are the reports true? We have no idea. That’s a matter for Floyd, his buyer and the reporters chasing his every move. We can say, however, that $4.8m would be a welcome price for anyone who currently owns one of our cars.
Pre-owned Koenigseggs – Certified Legends.
That’s a question we can definitely comment on.
The CCXR Trevita is a limited edition of three CCXR’s with unique, white carbon fibre body work. Trevita is Swedish for “three whites”. The Trevita models were produced in 2009.
It’s not unusual for Koenigseggs to have a clear-carbon look, where the carbon fibre weave remains visible to they eye. When our cars have this finish, the carbon fibre is black. Sometimes an owner will opt to have a tint applied to the clear coat, such as the blue tint applied to parts of the Koenigsegg One:1 shown below.
For the Trevita, Koenigsegg developed something truly special. This is not paint. It’s not a tint. It’s actually white carbon fibre that shines like millions of diamonds when the sun hits the car. It’s a manufacturing technique developed by Koenigsegg especially for this limited edition range. It’s a stunning visual effect and one that Koenigsegg is unlikely to ever produce again, ensuring the exclusivity of the “three whites” forever.
Here’s a closer look at the white carbon fibre weave. It’s truly an amazing effect.
The Trevita CCXR’s were built and equipped as follows:
Engine & Transmission
Visible shimmering diamond weave carbon body, paddle-shift, inconel exhaust system, rear parking sensor, dual airbags, double carbon wing, winglets, large front splitter, detachable stowable hardtop with glass roof, power windows, adjustable pedals and steering column, adjustable seats in rake and length, carbon ceramic brakes with ABS, hydraulic lifting system, power steering, power brakes, satnav, MP3 Player, USB connection, climate control, digital warning and info system, G sensor, alarm, tyre monitoring system, silver key, leather carpets, roof stowage bag, car cover, forged aluminium wheels and chrono instrument cluster.
Christian visited Jay Leno’s Garage back when the Trevita was fairly new and the video has only recently been re-published on Leno’s Youtube channel. It’s great viewing, and will give you a wonderful view of the car in action. Enjoy.
